We have five beautiful, healthy puppies in this litter - three girls and two boys with solids and pied in both genders. Full information and puppy profiles are on our Winter Lights litter page. Pictures and updates will be posted frequently on our puppy blog.
OUR PUPPIES ARE FAMILY
All puppies are raised in our home amongst our family, and stay with their mother and littermates until the day they are adopted. Socialization begins on day one with gentle handling, their mother’s loving care, and continues throughout their time with us. Puppies have a playground with a variety of enriching toys, exposure to everyday household noise, and interaction with children and pets. The socialization program we use is based on techniques recommended for guide dog breeding programs and canine behavior experts. Pups stay with mom to learn good doggie manners and develop non-verbal communication skills, and also have short but increasing periods of separation from mom and littermates to increase resilience and reduce anxiety. Formal temperament testing facilitates the best match between the pups and their new families, to help ensure successful integration and bonding. Housebreaking starts with us, taught by Mom’s example, with a real-grass inside dog lawn and trips to the outdoor toilet area, weather permitting. Basic house manners also begin early to give the pups the best possible start with their new families.
Our relationship with our puppies does not end the day they are adopted. Transition to their new homes is made smoother by providing each puppy with a Going Home Kit, including a soft toy and blanket with the scent of their mom and littermates. We are always here to support the pups and their new families, throughout their lifetimes. We welcome pictures of the whole family, puppy updates and anecdotes, texts, emails, and posts to our social media platforms. Expect us to also reach out to check in on how the pup is doing and give the opportunity to answer any questions or help solve issues that will invariably crop up. Delavan Sisters French Bulldog puppy adoptive families get not only a loving new family member, but also a larger Frenchie family and access to the wealth of experience and knowledge that a good breeder provides.
Happy, healthy, structurally sound dogs is our top priority! We are committed to ethical breeding practices with the wellbeing of our dogs being the most important consideration. All of our breeding dogs are genetically tested, pass Orthopedic Foundation for Animals recommended health screenings, and are confirmed to be healthy and appropriate for breeding by our veterinarians. They are part of our families, live in our homes, sleep in our beds, and are LOVED! Pups all receive top quality veterinary care with routine puppy wellness checks and vaccines/deworming. Genetic testing for common hereditary French Bulldog diseases and microchipping are completed prior to adoption, and each pup comes with their medical and genetic records, veterinary health certificate, and AKC registration paperwork. Our promise of a healthy puppy is backed up by a 2 year health guarantee against congenital or inherited diseases, including spine issues and Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS).
All of our pups are eligible for AKC registration and are placed exclusively with spay/neuter contracts. To ensure the spay/neuter is completed, upon submission of documentation from the veterinarian that the pup has been sterilized, we will refund $500 of the puppy purchase price. Only loving, appropriate homes will be considered for puppy adoption.
We understand that life does not always go as planned, and in spite of best efforts and intentions, it may become necessary to re-home a much loved pet. As peace of mind for our puppies, their families, and us, all Delavan Sisters dogs will always be accepted back by us for any reason.
