Happy Puppy Days

It’s been a great weekend - sunny, mild, and I’m finally caught up with the laundry… The puppies mastering using their litter box has been a HUGE game changer over the last couple of weeks. It’s so satisfying to see them stop whatever they are doing and run to their litter box to use it. Thank goodness!

We have had a fun weekend with lots of playing and games. We set up the pups’ “agility course” playground, and oh, my goodness! did they have fun! They had bars to jump over and climb under, a tunnel to zoom through, they played and wrestled on the grass lawn, and even got into a good game with Mom and Auntie Violette! They were having so much fun, that we even got down on the ground to join them. Before I knew it, I was lying on my back with 5 little puppies frantically giving me kisses. Moments like that are a reminder to stop and savor the little joys in life.

Afterwards, they were so pooped, that they climbed into the little puppy crate and fell asleep in a pile. We didn’t hear a peep out of them for a solid hour!

So, as it turns out, raising and socializing these little guys is a whole lot of fun, and they are naturally learning so much of it just through instinct and watching their mom and Violette. Despite all the work and investment, this has been a thoroughly joyful process, full of love, happy moments, created memories, and, of course, lots and lots of puppy poop. ;) It’s been worth every dollar spent, load of laundry run, and night of sleep lost to gain this incredible experience. And I am convinced that if everyone had a sweet dog to love and be loved by, humanity would be happier as a whole, and the world would be a much more pleasant place in which to live.
